The search for suitable acquisition targets is difficult and time consuming. taking six months to a year or more to contact and visit numerous prospects before a suitable company is found. A general rule of thumb is that 100 companies must be contacted to find one or two that are desirable and meet the search criteria.

In our work with buy-side clients, we have developed a methodology that produces acquisition candidate leads at a rate higher than might otherwise be expected:

• Starting with a raw data base of companies in an industry of interest, we can predictably deliver from 5% to 36% of companies we contact as qualified acquisition candidates ready to talk.

Our search methods involve direct mail and follow up telephone calls to companies identified from industry resources and whose operating and financial characteristics match the criteria of our client. We research and screen companies before contacting them.
